Luangprabang - Vientiane

Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang
Arrive Luangprabang and transfer for check-in. City sightseeing tour of World Heritage Listed Luangprabang: old royal temples: Wat Visoun and That Makmo water melon stupa, with a large Buddha statue and many ancient wooden and bronze Buddha images collected from the ruins of temples in northern Laos; visit the most beautiful temple in the city with its classical mosaic decoration at Wat Xieng Thong. Absorb the panoramic scene overlooking the heart of the city from Phousi Hill; enjoy shopping at the lively street evening market at Sisavang Vong Road. Overnight in Luangprabang.

Day 2:   Luang Prabang - Pak Ou
Transfer to the pier for boat trip on the Mekong River to visit Tamting / Pak Ou cave with thousands of antique Buddha images. On return, visit Ban Sanghai local rice whisky distillation and ancient pottery village. Drive to Ban Phanom Tai Lu hand weaving village and Sa paper making at Ban Xieng Leck. Free leisure time to experience the old culture…or relax in the top spa at hotel Maison Souvannaphoum colours of Angsana. Overnight in Luangprabang.

Day 3: Luangprabang - Vientiane
Early morning you can join or watch local people for Tak Bat alms giving to local monks - part of the ancient culture. Visit the former Royal Palace, which is now the National Museum with gifts to the former Royals. Transfer to Luangprabang airport for flight to Vientiane by Lao Airline QV …(to be advised). Free time in Vientiane. Dinner and cultural show. Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 4: Vientiane
City tour of Vientiane including: a visit to Wat Sisaketthe oldest standing temple in Vientiane housing many important documents and treasures, including 6,840 Buddha images, Ho Prakeo with the Emerald Buddha (Prakeo) and a museum with the most  extensive collection of Buddhist artifacts in the country. Opportunity to photograph and/or climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city at Patuxay (Victory Gate) the monument modeled after the Arc de Triumph in Paris, yet retaining its Laotian identity with traditional decorative motifs, That Luang (The Great Sacred Stupa) is said to contain relics of the Lord Buddha and is the country’s most cherished religious monument, Laos’ largest Buddhist festival of the year is held here on the 12th month of the Buddhist calendar. Then visit Talatsao Morning Market for a variety of local handicraft products and imported goods. We visit the National Museum in the city centre which displays antiques, photos, tools from early to modern Lao history, including the revolution period. Drive 30km south of Vientiane to visit Xiengkheuan Buddha Park, a blend of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures made by a mystical monk displayed by the bank of the Mekong River, on the way we can also see Mittaphab (Friendship) bridge over the Mekong River to Thailand. Dinner and show at restaurant in Vientiane. Overnight at hotel in Vientiane

Day 5: Vientiane – Departure
Free time until transfer to Wattay International Airport/Mitaphab Friedship Bridge for departure Laos to next destination
